Interested in recruiting more volunteers for your youth mentoring program and gaining national visibility for your efforts?

THE MENTORING CONNECTOR

What is the Mentoring Connector? The Mentoring Connector is a free service and the only database of its kind designed to help quality youth mentoring programs across the United States recruit volunteer mentors. This database (formerly the Volunteer Referral Service) is managed by MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership, and leveraged by serve.gov, NBA Cares, the Obama Foundation's My Brother’s Keeper, National CARES Mentoring Movement, and MENTOR’s network of affiliate Mentoring Partnerships across America. This resource gives programs listed in the database a high value visibility opportunity in which potential mentors can find your program when they search for a volunteer opportunity near them. The Mentoring Connector includes new search parameters, targeting options and updated mentoring program information. So far in 2018, the Mentoring Connector has been searched over 75,000 times!

PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS

Youth mentoring programs meeting baseline quality standards as outlined in the Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring™ will be added to the publicly‐searchable referral database. Programs that are not approved for public search due to not meeting baseline standards will remain in the database to inform aggregate data which is used by researchers, policy advocates, and the Affiliate Network to inform the national conversation about the importance of youth mentoring in the United States.
